Managing User Configuration Profiles

Introduction

This guide will help you learn how to manage user configuration profiles.

Create a User Profiles

  1. Go to Team/User Profiles and select Add Profile.

  2. Define the name of profile and add description. Assign the profile to the Group.

3. Define the agent configuration. The Values

  • Disable Sign-Out. Requires a code, generated by admin, to be able to sign out or exit the Vipilink agent.

  • Automatically log out agent after. The values are in days and months.

  • Connect on Launch. Connect to the most recent location when launched, allies to Mac and Windows agent.

  • Connect/Disconnect Notification. Displays connect/disconnect notifications. Applies to Mac and Windows only.

  • Upgrade Agent. Enforce automatic upgrades on all agents when new versions become available.

  • Crash Report (on a roadmap). Send crash reports to third-party systems (e.g. Tracepot, Loggy, etc).

4. Define Network Configuration. The Values

  • Always-on VPN. Automatically connects the VPN when an internet connection is available.

  • Kill Switch. Instantly cuts Internet connection, protecting data from temporary exposure. This may affect user experience.

  • Trusted Routers (Always-On Exceptions). When connected to a trusted router, a VPN connection will not be required even when Always-on is enabled. Applies to Mac and Windows only.

  • Automatic Wi-Fi Security. Automatically connects the VPN when an internet connection is available.

  • Trusted Wireless Networks (Automatically Wi-Fi Security Exceptions). When connected to a trusted Wi-Fi network, automatic Wi-Fi Security will not be triggered. Applies to Mac and Windows only.

5.Manage Agent Upgrades. Control how agent upgrades are performed when new versions are available. The Values are for Windows, Mac and Linux

  • Automatic Silent. Upgrades automatically without sending notification.

  • Notify Users. Before upgrade notifying user.

  • Disabled. No upgrade will be performed.

  • Users must upgrade their client applications before connecting to a network. Enable/disable.
